RATING : 3/5
Director: Sailesh Kolanu
Producers: Nani, Prashanti Tipirneni
Music Director : Vivek Sagar
Nani's second production, HIT has hit the screens now. Let's see if it has anything interesting going it is way.
Story:
Vikram(Vishwak Sen) is a competitive cop that has a painful past. One fine evening, a woman named Preeti gets kidnapped and Vikram is concerned in the situation. Matters become even crazier when Vikram's girlfriend, Neha(Ruhani Sharma) also gets kidnapped in the same manner. The rest of the story is concerning how Vikram solves this situation and nabs the culprit.
Plus Points:
The theme of the film looks good and has been provided a exceptional setup which is realistic. Ruhani Sharma is amazing in her role but she did not get to do much. Her chemistry with Vishwak Sen is great.
The investigation scenes have been showcased with a great deal of detail and they seem great in the first half. Murali Sharma is great in his short role. Hari Teja did well in her stressed role.
The period bang is great and the way each of the key factors in the narrative are connected looks good. The BGM needs a special mention as it elevates things very well. It was great to see Bhanu Chandar following a long time on screen.
Last but not the least, Vishwak Sen is your life and soul of the film. He had a difficult part to play however, the gifted actor carried the tense tempo through the end and proved that he is a versatile performer. Vishwak was quite good in all of the investigation scenes.
Minus Points:
One of the biggest downsides of the movie is that is lengthy. The runtime is very long and this makes the viewer a bit itchy as to when the big twist is going to be revealed finally.
The climax should have been handled even more efficiently as it ended on a simple note which does not produce any result. Scenes related to Hari Teja along with her investigation should have been decreased.
Any thriller generally has a lot of twists and turns but HIT doesn't have lots of these. It's more of a investigation film which is like solving a puzzle instead of giving the viewer an adrenaline pumping impact.
Technical Aspects:
The camera function of the movie is top notch along with the feel awarded to the visuals is quite great. As said before, the BGM is amazing. The dialogues and manufacturing design appear fantastic. A lot of detailing has become the film and this shows on screen in all the investigation scenes
Coming to the director Sailesh, he's done an okay job with the film. His detailing is good and also the way he unleashes all of the crucial things in the case is great. But if you see them cinematically, then there aren't a lot of crazy twists or edge of the seat moments made by the director.
Verdict:
Overall, HIT is a suspense thriller which has some interesting investigative scenes. The suspense has been maintained till the end and Vishwak Sen is top notch in his character. But the film is long and misses the needed spins which all thrillers have. Overall, its a decent attempt and could be viewed for it is passable thrills.
