story:
Noted manager, Narasimha Nandi, who's well known in making social-oriented films is back with a young romantic play titled,'' Degree College. The picture has struck the displays now. Let us see how it goes.
Place from the Telangana background, Shiva(Varun) is really a guy from the low caste who drops for Parvathi (Divya Rao), also a respected cop kid. Since Parvathi's dad is contrary to their love, the couple elopes and have married. After a great deal of effort, Parvathi's dad brings her straight . What's the further proceedings result in? Can Shiva and Parvathi Get Back ? What's going to be the finish with the love story? To realize that, you've got to grab the film in the theaters.
Plus-points:
Heroine Divya Rao may be your principal highlight as she played her daring and strong character quite impressively. Not merely she looks cute but comes with a respectable display presence. Her dialogue delivery and facilitate at Telangana S Lang are what to look out for while in this picture.
Hero Varun is adequate in his character also has a great voice but he wants to improve alot acting-wise. A couple romantic scenes and also a romantic song between the lead group will impress the targeted childhood. The individual, that acted as heroine's dad is good in their own negative stunt character. The rest of the musicians, that behaved as hero and heroine's friends had been fine within their roles.
The biggest minus point of the movie is that it's dead slow and has an overstretched narration. The most important point of this film also lacks freshness as we have seen the same kind of issue addressed in many movies recently. The romantic scenes and intimate track between the lead group are greatly motivated by Arjun Reddy and lack novelty.
Following an intriguing opening scene including the heroine and hero, everyone expects that the manager will deal with something new. But as a massive disappointment, the narration falls flat shortly after the movie changes to the faculty backdrop in Warangal. The orgasm portion is completely foolish and irritates the audience.
Technical Aspects:
Director Narasimha Nandi's idea of making a movie on societal inequalities is great but in the recent past, we've seen similar theories in films such as Dorasaani and Dhadak. Leaving the narrative aside, Narasimha Nandi's screenplay and narration are painful. Instead of managing the narrative in a regular way, he must have inserted a few twits.
Editing work by KV Nagireddy is fine but he could have focused on keeping the runtime in the limit. Cinematography by Muralimohan Reddy is okay to a degree. Music by Sunil Kashyap is great as the background score and one montage love song are nice. Production values with this very low budget film are fine.
Verdict:
On the whole, Degree College is a message-oriented social play which exposes the inequalities in society. Heroine Divya Rao's acting along with a couple of romantic scenes between the direct group are fine but the slow-paced narration, prolonged runtime and absence of suitable narration make the film a tedious and disappointing fare at the box office.
